Lauren's Story

I am beyond grateful and honored to be the 2021 recipient of the $1,000 Be Bold, Brave, and Brilliant scholarship!

These funds have allowed me to further my academic career at the University of North Alabama, where I am currently studying Professional Biochemistry on a pre-medical track. After I complete my undergraduate degree, I hope to attend medical school and become a pediatrician.

Be Bold, Brave, and Brilliant never ceases to remind me of the priceless value of hard work and determination. It has inspired me to set high goals for myself, and to put forth the effort required to achieve them. There is no such thing as an unreachable dream, as long as you are willing to work to achieve it, and Be Bold, Brave and Brilliant unfailingly displays this truth. In fact, this movement has inspired me to continue my work towards a goal that I have always had, which is competing in pageants!

I am so thankful for Makalyn and the way in which she pours herself into inspiring young women to embody these characteristics in a way that benefits both themselves and those around them. I hope that in some way I can serve as an inspiration to other young women to do just the same so that the next generation can truly be “Bold, Brave, and Brilliant”!
